Jacqueline Houston obituary (1951 – 2021) – Cox’s Creek, KY



Jacqueline Lucille “Jackie” Houston, 70, of Cox’s Creek, died on Sunday December 26, 2021 in Nelson County as a result of a car accident. She was born on November 16, 1951 in Portsmith, Ohio, to the late Jack and Francis Carpenter Vogel. Jackie was a former Birmingham Metal Products employee, loved her grandchildren, cooking and the holidays.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by three brothers, Bobby Gene Vogel, Chuck Vogel and Kenny Vogel; one sister, Deanna Vogel; and a granddaughter, Makalyn Rae Hill.
Jackie is survived by her husband, Randy Houston; one daughter, Susan Houston (Maxwell Hardin), of Springfield; one son, Randy A. (Heather) Houston, of Louisville; five grandchildren, Kelsey (Joe Johnson III) Houston, Hailey Houston, Conner Hill, Reese Houston and Denton Byrd; one great-grandchild, Joe Johnson IV; as well as several nieces and nephews whom she loved as her own.
The funeral will be on Thursday, December 30 at 1 p.m. at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home, 1475 New Shepherdsville Road, with a cremation to follow the service.
Visitations will be held on Thursday, December 30 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family is asking for expressions of sympathy in the form of contributions to the ARC Crown Recovery Center, 2735 Bardstown Road, St. Catherine, KY 40061.
Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home will make the arrangements.
